- 1 pound Wellington County Diced Beef (Halal)

- 1/2 cup soy sauce

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons mirin (rice wine)

- 4 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon grated ginger

- 2 tablespoons sesame oil

- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

- 2 cups cooked white rice

- Sliced cucumber for garnish (optional)


  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and mix well to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or longer if time allows.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and has a nice caramelized color.
